It all started with this Book...

I know I left you all yesterday with the thought I may not be back. But I was inspired and it all started with this book.
I've had my copy for months and than forgot about. Hmmm, maybe I just got too caught up in everything else. Well I started thumbing though this book and this is what I did with it.
I found some pink and green scraps ( my focus fabric has green and you all know I don't have a lot of pink).
Cut them up into squares and triangles.
All so they could make this tiny quilt.
I did add more, because I had just enough focus fabric to add another row. Cousin Linda has a friend with a new baby girl, so this will be for her.
I had so much fun cutting out triangles, that I started something else. A very untraditional baby quilt. More about that later.
Also if anyone else has this book, have you read the front about exchanging triangles? If so and you are interested, lets start it up. Comment and lets start exchange triangles. Again, more about this later.
Got to run, or walk.
Take care, Brandie

Cute baby quilt and I'm excited to see the other one too. Nope I haven't read that book, but I'll look around for it next time I get the chance.

I'm not familiar with that book, but hope to visit the library today to pick up a book on hold on wood turning...I have a lathe on the way! Yeah, i need a new hobby, right! I'll have to go to the library website and search for it. Maybe I can pick it up too!
I love the idea of exchanges, and prticipated in a nickel excange about 5 years ago. I have a lovely box of 5" squares of fabrics that I would not have purchased, but love most of them. There were only 4 of us in the excange and we took turns picking two complementary colors to exchange each month. Some came from our stashes, but since I was fairly new to this addiction I had not started obsessivly buying fabric yet...that may have been the beginning of that habit. I had to go shopping every month to fulfill my obligation. We exchanged two squares of each color choice 6 lights and 6 darks (12 fabrics a month). Do the math, it is a pile of fabrics even though a fat quarter of each was enough. That would have equaled 36 yards, but who can go into a quilt shop and just buy exactly what they came for...not me.
Your little quilt is so cute. Glad you came back to see us so soon. :o)
