A Pile of Baskets

This last week I managed to finish up all those little Civil War baskets. Now I have to come up with a layout. I think this is the harder step. I know I want them on point. So I need to find another fabric to complement them. These are my choices.
I have two for sure CW fabrics and the other two maybes. I don't know that they all have to be CW fabric, but I do want a "together" quilt. I always feel as if maybe my quilts would be better if I followed the rules and I feel that this is a good rule. So I've eliminated the other two none CW fabrics. I think I will be using the first fabric on the left.
Now that Maximus is back home with his Mommy, I hope to get a lot done. After yoga today, I'll be heading down to see Gail and I'm going to get these baskets into some rows. I see something in my mind and I'm going to try to get the fabric to cooperate.
I'll be back tomorrow with a little update.
Take care, Brandie

Darn cute baskets!! I really love the 2nd fabric in moving from left to right. At first I loved the first one but changed my mind. All are great though! Good luck! :-)

I took a class from a woman who specializes in CW reproduction fabrics. She only sells CW reprduction fabric, but uses anything that feels right in the background. piecingthepast.com is her website, but she doesn't focus much on it. The last time I visited it, it seemed to need an update, but she focuses on her teaching and traveling to shows, not the website.
I like the 2nd and 3rd fabrics, but i'm not saying they look better with your baskets, just that I like them. The first one will give your quilt more interest. Would love to see all your work in real life.
