2 down, 4 to go

Yesterday I whipped up a couple of baby tops. I had some scraps that were just perfect for that.
Now I did buy this mouse fabric recently, with the intention of turning it into a baby quilt, but the rest are scraps or stash fabrics
And this pink quilt is all scraps. Most were leftover strips from my niece's quilts. So these came together quite quickly.
Some of the center squares came from Gail's scrap box, I stole them. Aren't they perfect!?
I really like the way this pink one looks. I chose the colors based on the backing I bought. I'm going to get these sandwiched and hopefully quilted up today.

Now for some disturbing news.
Monday morning, my son and I saw a bag under his car. We went and investigated, thinking that someone had thrown trash under his car. As William reached for the bag, he yelled back at me that it looked like a canvas bag or a pillowcase, the bag than started to move. He jumped back and we debated on what to do. We weren't sure if it was a bag of snakes, badgers or what. We really weren't expecting any of this.
He carefully untied the bag and inside were these 4 little kitties.
They appear to be just around 6 weeks. We have been able to get them to eat solid food. In fact they are animals with food. They act as if they are staving, which they may have been.
William's car was parked across the street in a parking lots. He hasn't moved it since last Tuesday.
I just don't understand what makes a person do this. How hard is it to take them to the pound? How hard is it to give them away in front of a store? How hard is it to just let them live outside and fend of themselves? How cruel do you need to be to throw a bag of kittens under someone's car? Sometimes the human race disgusts me.
William has already found a home for 2 of them, within a day. He has a great story to tell and maybe that opens peoples hearts, but what a terrible story!
So anyone near by want a kitty? Let me know. We figured we'd try to find them homes before taking them to the pound. And I just don't get it, it hasn't been that hard! Sometimes people suck!

Take care, Brandie

Brandie..your baby quilts are beautiful!

I do have to tell you though that your post almost made me physically sick! I cannot believe how horrible some people are! I would take one of those kittens if I lived close enough.

Wish you could beam me one over the ocean ! Sometimes I wonder if the human race has progressed at all when there are still people like that around. Lovely baby quilts.

I love your baby quilts. It amazes me how you just "threw them togeter". I guess I don't over cut enough, lol.

What a lovely heart your son has to take on the responsibility of finding homes for those kittens. It's good to know that in this cruel world there are still kindhearted people like your family.
Blessings, :o)

Wow, you got those 2 quilts done in record time.
I don't understand some people either. We used to get stray dogs around here when we first moved in and I would take them to the shelter.
Already had 2 dogs and didn't want more.
