Rambles

Remember me?
How about this guy?
Well we are still hanging in there. We are just taking one day at a time.
My SIL had another brain surgery after getting another infection and going unconscious this weekend. It seems to have affected her memory and definitely slowed her recovery.

With all the traveling that I've been doing, I seemed to have knocked my back out of whack again. So badly that I was forced to hobble to the Dr ( it's pretty bad when a 43 year old needs help getting of the pot!).
Apparently I've been suffering from a slipped disk. This has been an on going battle and now it has a name ( H E double hockey sticks).
I'm doing Physical Therapy three times a week and I really hope that I'll be back to feeling like myself really soon.
As you can guess, I'm not doing much of anything. Everything takes forever, even this post. I have to get up and walk every three words.
But sometime during this last month I've tested out a stoneware bread pan versus a cast iron bread pan. I used the same bread recipe on both. The only difference that I could see or find was that the cast iron pan made the crust darker but they both made a nice crust.
My sons girlfriend doodled on her arm and I thought, "this would make a beautiful quilting design".
If I ever get around to it that is!
I was finally inspired by a picture I saw. So I've been slowly sketching and designing a quilt. My favorite part is how the green dots flow into the black dots. You may have to click the picture to make it larger to see what I'm talking about. Anyway, That's my favorite part.
And lastly, I wanted to show you my new favorite plant. I love this color and it brings out the cobalt blues I have around the yard.
After I get my new corset (back brace) I'm hoping to be able to plant this beauty. Or I need to beg and bribe. I'm feeling really pathetic, I can't even go grocery shopping on my own! But I'm determined to  try to carry on and get things done.

Anyway, Thanks for stopping in and listening to me ramble.
Take care, Brandie

Gettin' old sucks don't it. I have a pulled muscle in my hip/rear end area and it's been killin' me. I keep telling myself that I don't need to see a doctor because I'm only 42...lol.

Glad to hear you're hanging in there.

Look at all the different things you found to look at including a cobalt blue flower. Quilting influences and ideas are there all the time, even when we are not sewing. Happy to see you posting, hang in there. Continued thoughts and prayers for you and SIL. (((Bear Hugs )))

It's weird how stress can manifest itself in so many ways. Now we need to be praying for YOU as well.

You sure have a lot on your plate right now. I pray your sisterinlaw makes a full recovery. I like the green and black dots! Very cute! Take it easy. It will all be there waiting later.

Brandie,
I hate to say it but your post sounds like my life too. I'm having back issues/neck issues but my hubby is a mess. He had rotator cuff surgery in January and never finished his PT before having a herniated L4-5 that is pressing on his sciatic nerve. He's miserable. Going for his second injection on Tuesday. So as bad as I am, someone has to keep things going. My garden hasn't been planted yet and it's June in Virginia. What fun! Hope you get to feeling better soon.
