This is it. The last week before the big day. Are you ready? Me? As ready as I'll ever be.
This year I don't have much spirit. I'm trying, but failing.
Another thing that doesn't help, injuring myself. This last week my absence was cause be the inability to use my right hand, my favorite hand. Thank goodness it's on the mend now, or you wouldn't be hearing from me now.
What have I done now? I've pulled the tendon in my middle finger.
Before you all think I've over used it on the Holiday drivers, rest assured that wasn't it.
But I've heard nothing but giggles from those who know the real story. So you are all going to have to imagine a good story.
I do have a bit of show and tell. I can start to feel my hand ache so I need to cut this short.
I made a big mug rug for my coffee table. The small coasters just looked like toys to the dogs, so I made a big one. Simple. My only problem, making round circles, but the tissue box covers those imperfect circles.
If I don't get back before the week is out, have a Wonderful Holiday!
Take care, Brandie

I can't pass up making a comment....what a funny story....my husband and I have never heard of a favorite hand, but rest assured the right one is our favorite one also. Hope it is better soon. LOL
Also your mug rug is very pretty....
Imperfect circles have WAY MORE personality!!!!!
Take care of that hand...
Your mug rug looks great Brandie! Look after your hand and hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas!
I had my favorite hand middle finger smashed in a door once and had to be in a finger cast for weeks so I feel your pain and wish you a very speedy recovery.
Your mug rug is adorable, I love how you quilted the star points.
A wonderful holiday to you and your family, take care!
Hope you are back on the mend again. Lol, I fell last night on the last 2 steps of my family room. On none other than a quilt kit setting on the steps. I can't tell you how many times my Mister has gotten onto me about leaving such things there. Hmm, notice my blog on your list is showing I haven't posted in 5 weeks. Not sure why since that is incorrect. Oh well, I'm almost finished with my #20 block. Stay tune for it's posting. Hope you have a Merry Christmas Brandie. Hang in there with the spirit, I'm rating about the same here!
Good to hear from you! Sorry to hear about your injury...would love to hear the real story since it seems to make giggles. That's ok, I'll just imagine as you said.
No holiday spirit here, no tree, presents for just the parents and my son and his new wife, oh yeah and my niece that is putting me up for a few days. I have never been so low on holiday spirit in my life...but it's not christmas yet! I still have a chance.
HOpe your invaded by Christmas spirit, and not one jangling chains, eek! Blessings :o)
My spirit didn't kick in until this week. Too much other stuff. Still no tree but lights are up, cards are sent. Maybe some baking will help. Some quilting... Yea, that will do it.
Love your FMQ big mug rug. I like your spiral center. It has personality. I signed up for a 2012 FMQ challenge that is starting up with some great FMQ teachers each month. Could be a good motivator.
Take care of your hand.
Happy Holidays and on to a New Year! Jo
That is gorgeous and I hope your hand is starting to feel better!!
Merry Christmas.
Mug rug is supersized and fabulous!! I'm in the same boat as you...not a lot of spirit this year. Too crazy busy. Mad at myself for not doing a better job of scheduling. Although, my sis-in-law sent me a photo of my almost 2 yr old niece sitting on Santa's lap, almost crying and picking her nose. LOL!!!! Made my whole week!!! A very Merry Christmas to you and your family, Brandie!!
Best wishes for the year 2012.
Love,
-Samya :0
