Bits and Piecing

Between all my running around yesterday, I finally managed to complete the next step on "1" of my Soupçon blocks.
If you look closely you will see I have an extra border. I somehow ended up with my pieced border being an inch longer than the rest. So I improvised.
Now I'll need to remember that when I do my next "2" blocks.
With each step I find I like one block better than the others. Now this one is my favorite.
It's hard to get much done when I have to share my workspace. I was sewing like a princess yesterday. With just my toes on the pedal and daintily sitting on the front of the chair.
Within fifteen minutes I had another cat on the table and a dog by my feet. Sometimes I feel like locking myself away just to get anything done!
Last night our small group got together to construct a new quilt.
We started off making 300 plus half square at 3 inches.
Then we constructed a few blocks.
The hard part was trying to configure a layout.
Between the 10 of us ladies we had these block going every which way and not always right!
I really is difficult when your blood sugar is low.
Ultimately this will be our layout. I just need to make it work.
So I have a bit of unsewing today to make the middle. The rest should be easy for our next meeting. Should be.

Take care and have a wonderful weekend!

Love the half square triangle project. The circle almost looks like a planet or a moon floating in the middle. I can't wait to see it finished.

Your princess sewing session is only made all the better by Dorian joining you. Feel the love! Lovely quilts. Unsewing...maybe Dorian could help with those sharp claws. NOT! Creative Stitching Bliss Dear...

Cats always manage to make themselves comfortable at your expense! Love the new quilt, I can understand how you would have to concentrate when piecing them all together.

How many steps are there in your Soupcon blocks? I like the colors in your first one. The outer border fabric reminded me of ruffles when I first saw it. As for your helper, I had to laugh because I can't count how many times I've had to perch on the edge of my chair to sew for the very same reason! He's a cutie though.
